EnergyAlps

Electric Power, Systems, and Society

EnergyAlps brings together research teams from the Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA), the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) in Grenoble, and the Inria Center at UGA in Grenoble to focus on electrical energy, ranging from system components to societal implications. It was launched on January 1, 2025, for a period of eight years.

EnergyAlps studies energy distribution systems that are significantly affected by the energy transition, across different temporal and spatial scales. The scientific challenges involve the planning and control of resilient electrical systems, the regulation, governance, and adoption of decarbonized organizations, the deployment of digital architectures for smart grids, the development of suitable power electronics, and the methods, tools, and data required to conduct multidisciplinary research (electrical engineering, social sciences, digital technology, applied mathematics, etc.).
