LabEx EnergyAlps held its launch event on November 17, 2025, in the MaCi Amphitheater.
The launch day of LabEx EnergyAlps was a great success, bringing together 98 registered participants and 70 attendees during the opening morning. The presentations confirmed, in the eyes of both supervisors and funders, the relevance of a LabEx dedicated to the challenges of electrification in the energy transition, particularly at a time when the energy wall linked to the rise of AI is looming. Patrick Criqui 's presentation offered valuable insight by placing these issues in a rapidly changing geopolitical context, which must be taken fully into account. The structural projects supported by LabEx also demonstrate the strength and diversity of Grenoble's assets, as well as the value of additional funding from LabEx to support truly interdisciplinary approaches. This event also provided an opportunity to inaugurate the Sobriety and Resilience Chair of the Université Grenoble Alpes UGA) Foundation, marked by speeches from its first patrons, symbolizing research committed to serving society. Finally, the Deputy Regional Academic Delegate for Research and Innovation strongly emphasized that the European level is an essential lever, both for guiding the LabEx's actions and for accessing the funding essential for their deployment.
The morning concluded with a casual buffet, and plans have already been made for the LabEx’s upcoming events, including its “Prospectives” workshop and the Chair’s scientific conference.
